What to wear on Christmas eve

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
Of course, we wear whatever we want, regardless of trends, regardless of body type or style (φορέματα), but some people don’t have it all figured out. Not everyone has the same knowledge of fashion or their bodies of how to wear an outfit or what is worn each season, or for that matter what the holiday dress code is.

The most natural thing in the world is to give advice to one another, one woman to another, to help where we need it. Whether it’s for our relationship, or even for the clothes we will wear for the holidays. That’s why today, I want to help you clear up some things, as far as the festive dress code is concerned. Through tips, I want to help you free the perception you have about dressing during the holidays.

What do we mean when we say festive dress code?

The dress code is, in my opinion, a limiting term of fashion, because it essentially tells us what we should and cannot wear. In essence, these are dress codes, which may concern the environment of the office, school or even a formal occasion. Of course, regarding the latter, when we are dealing with an official event, which has, for example, a black-tie dress code, there things are a little more liberal, in terms of the style of the clothes we wear. All we need to wear is a “good” outfit to put it very simply. From then on, what we wear is our choice.

Usually, on holidays, a black-tie dress code applies. By no means does it apply to all parties and get-togethers, though, ok? This is set by the host or whoever organizes an event. But the general vibe of the day’s dressing is that the festive dress code has something that sets it apart from our everyday appearances. It can have more sparkle, it can have more styling, more formal style clothing, like long dresses and so on.

This is a more general concept regarding the festive dress code. Nevertheless, it is this image that we have of festive clothing that sometimes makes us fear the looks of the holidays. Today, therefore, I want to break down the landscape a bit on what we wear this season, with the aim of seeing the festive dress code, a little more liberally. The point is to enjoy what you wear in general and not to stress about the “must haves” of the day.

See if there is a dress code

If you are invited to a party or an event, the first thing you should do and which will help you with what to wear, is the dress code. Is there a dress code?  Usually, black-tie events do, but if you’re sure, ask. If there isn’t, then feel free to wear whatever you want, depending on the occasion. You can tell how formal or informal a party is by how it is organized and what the occasion is. Is it a time change party? Is it a soiree between friends? Depending on the occasion, you can decide how formally or informally you need or want to dress.

Festive dress code: Don’t be afraid of color

I think we have associated the Christmas and New Year holidays so much with red, black and bright clothes that we forget the most powerful “player”: color. The festive dress code is the ideal occasion to dare with a little extra color in your looks. Or even more, whatever expresses you. This year, the trends call us to wear bright shades, and the holidays, which always have an extra dose of glam, are the ideal occasion to try something more fun and with more color.

Yes, you can wear jeans too

It all starts and ends with styling. The style we want to convey, as well as the success of our ensembles, are always judged by the way we wear our clothes. It doesn’t matter if you’re at a holiday party and you’re wearing the fanciest dress or the most casual outfit, like a pair of jeans. The point is how you bring it up. The textures of the clothes, the coats, the shoes, the jewelry, everything plays a role. By the same logic, you can deal with other clothes in your wardrobe, such as knitwear or more tailored pieces, such as a jacket.

Festive dress code: If you shop for something, invest in a statement piece

Let’s be honest. Not all of us have the time to search for the perfect holiday look, nor the budget to buy 500 different outfits to wear to holiday parties. And can I tell you something? You don’t even need to. All you have to do is invest in a statement piece that will elevate your whole look. It can be a stunning top or pants or dress. It can be a beautiful pair of shoes or a bag. Even if you choose a monochrome ensemble, by adding an impressive item, you will make it more festive and unique.
